Assistant Professor Tenure Track Position, Sociology/Community BasedResearch and Qualitative Methods

The Department of Sociology at California State University, San Bernardino invites applicants for
a tenure-track position at the rank of assistant professor in sociology beginning September
2018.

Applicants should be able to teach courses in community based research and qualitative
methods. Secondary teaching areas should include the ability to teach in at least one of the
following: social inequality, migration, social welfare, social policy, or community sociology. The
Sociology Department is located in the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences and offers
Bachelor of Arts degrees in Sociology and Sociology-Social Services Track. The department has
12 full-time tenure track faculty members and over 700 undergraduate majors. CSUSB has a
diverse student body and approximately 80% of our students are first-generation college
students and we seek a colleague who has demonstrated a commitment to fostering a
community that recognizes the value of all people, regardless of ethnicity, race, gender, religion,
national origin, sexual orientation, ability, or socioeconomic status.
