Mass Incarceration and Deportation Forum (p I)

Published by anaantunes on

On April 19 URBAN LA will convene an interactive forum of leaders and activists who have been engaged in work on immigrant rights, mass incarceration, or both. The increase in mass deportation and mass incarceration reflects a systematic criminalization of communities of color, especially youth of color. Dialogue between scholars and community leaders will promote the exploration of potential alliances, joint research, and strategies to advance organizing and policy change.

The forum will be held at the UCLA Downtown Labor Center, 675 S. Park View St. on Saturday, April 19th from 10:00am-2:00pm (PST).  Send in RSVP’s to urbanlosangelesnode@gmail.com.  Click here to download a flyer with complete information about the forum and a list of URBAN LA members involved.
