Stand Against Racism on April 28 (p II)

On April 28, URBAN.Boston, in conjunction with the Center for Social Policy at UMass Boston’s McCormack Graduate School co-hosted a Stand Against Racism panel discussion drawing over seventy researchers, faculty members, students, and community members from across the Boston area.

Mark Warren, associate professor in the Department of Public Policy and Public Affairs at UMass Boston, and Donna Haig-Friedman, director of the Center for Social Policy facilitated the discussion among a diverse group of panelists. Representing varied organizations across the city, panelists included two UMass Boston colleagues: Karen Suyemoto from the Departments of Psychology and Asian American Studies and Sunni Ali, a constituent advisor at the Center for Social Policy and a board member and Criminal Justice Committee organizer at the Boston Worker’s Alliance. Others included J. Phillip Thompson from MIT’s Department of Urban Studies and Planning, Chris Jones from the Dudley Street Neighborhood Initiative, and Meghan Doran from the Boston Busing/Desegregation Project.
