The AD leads the CRC’s short and long term planning, and the development and execution of CRC projects; assessment of multiple constituency needs; developing funding proposals for foundations, public agencies, and individual donors; evaluation of academic program activities and functions; communication and cooperation with faculty in program areas: development of interdisciplinary collaborations; and initiation of programs that develop new programmatic directions.
1.  Organizational and Strategic Management (50%) The AD will hire, supervise, and mentor administrative and program staff affiliated with the Center and will also supervise and mentor students conducting research through the Center, when appropriate.
The AD oversees all CRC budgets, personnel, finances and facilities. Provides leadership to meet Center and project goals and staffing needs by supervising Center core staff and academics. Prepares annual and other periodic reports.

The AD will support the development of collaborative research and outreach projects among UC Davis faculty, research staff and graduate students on issues related to regional change.
3.  Communications, Network Development, Professional Competence (25%) The AD will establish and maintain contact with other leading regional change researchers and institutions within and beyond California, and will develop MOUs with researchers and institutions outside of CA&ES as appropriate.

The AD will represent the Center in scholarly, professional, policy and other networks, associations, and venues and will, as appropriate, review research proposals, journal manuscripts, and publications relevant to the Center’s activities. However, this is not a research or teaching position and these activities will not be criteria in assessment.
The AD will develop a broad knowledge of regional change-related research and extension activities being conducted by UC Davis faculty and other research personnel, and will establish and maintain contact with these individuals and encourage them to implement their research through the Center.
